IKC Conference

IKC Administrators conference this year is held at Cairns Colonial club resort from 08/09/08 - 11/09/08

We have excellent staff base in Cairns who are running this program and it's going really good also we have in present an international guest speaker Ms Carol Kidu who is the minister for Community development & learning in Papua New Ginuea.

I have really had fun and to learn whole lot of new stuff during this workshop and am greatfull to meet other IKC Adminitrators.

About Boigu

Boigu Island is a mud flat country surrounded by mangroves and the sea, situated in the top western part of the Torres Strait, which lies 5km away from the coast line of Papua New Guinea and 40km north from the main administrative centre in Thursday Island.

Boigu has a population of approximatley 300-400 people living on the island. There are various agencies at Boigu which consist of Council staff, Health centre, local primary school, sport & recreation officer, Immergration, Aqis, Indigenous Knowledge Centre and many more.
